Clemmer Completes Term as PAA President
Sanford Alderfer Real Estate is proud to congratulate Lon Clemmer, auctioneer and real estate sales associate, on completion of his term as president of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association (PAA) Board of Directors.
The PAA, formed in 1948, is one of the largest state auctioneer associations in the United States and continues its dedication to making the auction industry stronger by continually improving the standard of education, ethics, and performance of its members.
In January, the association hosted its 76th annual state conference and trade show in Harrisburg. The conference offered educational seminars, participatory workshops, and opportunities for attendees to network with other auction professionals. A highlight was the Pennsylvania Auctioneer Competition Championship hosted by the PAA at the Farm Show Complex. The competition boasted hundreds in attendance and showcased the best auctioneers licensed in the state of Pennsylvania. This year, 23 contestants competed with prizes being awarded to the overall champion, runner-up, rookie, and top female competitor.
The conference closed with the annual President’s Banquet where Lon served as Master of Ceremonies. Past PAA presidents were recognized as the gavel was passed to incoming 2024 president, Thomas Saylor.
Lon is a graduate of Mendenhall School of Auctioneering and of the Certified Auctioneers Institute. He is a Master Personal Property Appraiser and a Certified Estate Specialist. In addition, he holds the prestigious Accredited Auctioneer Real Estate designation from the National Auctioneers Association. He is actively involved in various professional organizations, locally and nationally, and is a licensed real estate salesperson in Pennsylvania. Lon and his wife have three sons, three daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time with family and friends in the mountains of northern Pennsylvania.
